Chandler Arizona is a small town 19 miles away from phoenix. The town was named after a veterinary surgeon called Dr. A.J chandler. He was the first veterinarian approved to serve in Arizona. Â In the late 1800’s (early 1900’s) he purchased 18,000 acres of farmland. He built the San Marcos hotel, now called the Sheridan (built in 1913) many attractions include annual chandler ostrich festival (which attracts over 200,000 people), Christmas tree celebration, cotton festival, and a Greek and jazz fest! The summers are of course hot, but it’s not a muggy hot as you would get in a place like Florida. It is bearable.

There are several things to do in this small town. There are 8 different spa’s, tumbleweed park (which one review stated: a fun day in march for the family, or a good outing with friends. Inexpensive, several diverse family entertainment venues and lots of unhealthy, tasty, carnival type food—including ostrich burgers and large turkey legs.),rawhide at wild horse pass, Arizona railway museum and 5 different golf courses. If you so happen to live there or are staying with family or friends around the holidays, one always loves to decorate their houses with Christmas lights. I can recommend a Christmas light installer.
